Overview
LearnLoop connects tutors with students through on-demand courses and live classrooms. The legacy site buckled every enrollment week, so I rebuilt the platform on Vue.js with a Node API layer — course catalog, checkout, video delivery, and per-student progress.
Enrollment-week traffic now passes without incident, and tutors publish new material through a CMS instead of filing tickets.
Challenge
Traffic spikes of 20x during enrollment, a catalog that tutors needed to edit themselves, and video lessons that had to resume exactly where each student left off — on any device.
Approach
Edge-cached catalog pages, a queue-backed enrollment flow that absorbs spikes, and resumable video state synced per student. Load tests simulated three consecutive enrollment rushes before go-live.
